In your synagogue: help shape the direction of your Sisterhood; sustain educational programs, provide financial support; enrich the religious school;

In your community: through programs to aid the sick, elderly and persons with disabilities; teens and college students; singles; recent immigrants; political advocacy;

In the world: support Israel and the Conservative/Masorti Movement and Jewish communities worldwide; and

In your life: with programs for personal growth, Jewish involvement, cultural enrichment, and educational pursuits; establish lasting relationships; share life-cycle events; network for social and business contacts; and with your family: understand your heritage; develop a Jewish pattern of life through home observance and holiday celebrations.

Mah Nishtanah...?
by Edya Artz, z"l, Past Women's League Education Director

Why is Sisterhood different from any other organization of Jewish women? Because its reason for being, as seen in every aspect of its multi-faceted program, is concern for education, the Jewish education of its members.  Simply put, the goal of a Sisterhood is to steadily encourage and lead its members ever higher on the ladder of knowledge and understanding, through Jewish education. Our tradition tells us: "Knowledge not increased is knowledge decreased"
(Pirkay Avot 1:13)

Becoming your best self: An individual who is honest and just, who cares about others and knows how to make wise choices, how to relate to family and friends, and to successfully balance regard for self and regard for others.
